Buhingo Dispensary

Buhingo Dispensary is located 80km south of Mwanza in Misungwi District. The dispensary was started in 1981 with a substantial expansion in 1992. The dispensary provides services to the areas including the villages of Buhingo, Seeke, and Kabale.
The dispensary refers patients with specialized needs to Bugando medical Center in Mwanza or to one of three hospitals located within 40 km of Buhingo: Misungwi Hospitl, Sumve District Designated Hospital, and Bukumbi Hospital.

We are a Catholic Dispensary operated by Benedictine Sisters committed to carrying out the healing mission of Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to providing compassionate and excellent health care.
Goals of Buhingo Dispensary
History
Buhingo Parish was begun in 1921. In 1961, the White Fathers arrived in Misungwi and took over administration of the parish. In 1981, the dispensary opened and began serving the people of the region. The dispensary changed hands several times over the years, but in 2001, the Benedictine Fathers of Kawekamo took over the administration of the dispensary and remain the administrators to this day.

- Assist the community to prioritize their health problems and help them to tackle their issues.
- Health services should be given according to those who are at risk, especially mother and child.
- Making health services available to the whole population.
