Mission
To further the ministry of Jesus Christ to the family of God and facilitate the provision of quality health services in the Archdiocese of Mwanza through caring and being responsible in the manner that will ensure:
- Quality, Equity, Accessibility and transparency with compassion and love;
- The availability of medical professionals committed and adheres to medical ethics;
- High moral standards at work place at all times.

About the Department
In 1990
the Archdiocesan Health Department (AHD) of Mwanza was established as the
executive organ of the Mwanza Archdiocesan Medical Board (MAMB), the highest
authority in the Archdiocese of Mwanza concerning all health related issues.
The MAMB has a role in the establishment of health policies and safeguarding
the essential values of its health facilities, which include hospitals, health
centers, dispensaries, training institutions, and projects. The Mwanza
Archdiocesan health services have existed for more than 50 years, being well
governed by the leadership of the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Mwanza.
The health department has its own structure and personnel to assist its daily operations and coordination.
